Tomato workers in Florida face low wages, harsh working conditions, and – on occasion – rape and even slavery. Major tomato buyers including four of the five largest fast food giants have agreed to pay an extra penny a pound on condition growers treat workers with minimal decency. Wendy's is holding out. So we collected pennies as charitable donations to Wendy's so the multi-billion dollar company can afford to do the right thing.
