theres a storm a’commin’, sweepin’ me along… I roll down the windows, let the radio play louder, louder, barreling down the expressway — past the farmhouses, past the fields, past the workers hurrying to get in, toward home – in no particular hurry, wishing only that the moment last a little longer…
the atmospheric charge that makes the air crackle and the wicked-wind seem thicker with sweet/sour perfume of the plains makes me feel more alive, as the animals run for cover – away from the storm, I can only wish that I could ride that front all the way to wherever in the hell its’a’goin’! nuthin’ matters! this is the sort of moment to live for! to live in… the synthesis of ape and essence… the joy of living, if only that were true…
whether it be a decade or a century, let these be the moments of which great works are written – instead of wars won, instead of conquests and defeats, generals and martyrs, instead of riches and manors and hovels and shantys, banquets and famines… instead, let us write to remember the storm, remember the moments, celebrate life and living and making and giving, caring and sharing and loving thine workmate & neighbor, family & friend, comrade & cadre. let us build monuments to celebrate humanity the whole and the wholeness of nature…
Let’s fight, toil & struggle, tear down the old and build anew… Let’s build it now! a fraternity of all in a world with one class/no class, one banner for all, one mantra for the multitude, many voices – each unique, but one rally-call: to from each according to their ability, to each according to their need!
