Aaron Maté is a Canadian writer and journalist. He is a winner of the Izzy Award (named after the maverick journalist I.F. Stone) for outstanding achievement in independent media. Maté has worked as a reporter and producer for Democracy Now!, Vice, The Real News Network, and Al Jazeera, and has contributed to The Nation. He co-hosts the Useful Idiots podcast with Katie Halper.
