    Ladies Night in Olympia

    Part of a multi year campaign to end Stryker armored vehicle shipments out of ports in the Puget Sound. Activists were mobilized from Eugene to Port Townsend for protests at the ports of Olympia, Tacoma and Aberdeen.There is a lot more footage on youtube. This particular video documents some of the courageous women in Olympia. The sisters united will never be defeated.

    I'm originally from Austin, TX, but moved to Olympia, WA to go to The Evergreen  State College. There I studied quite a bit of political economy, foreign policy, critical race and gender studies, social movements and ethnography and organized a bit with different groups. I also attended ZMI 2007. After my stint at Evergreen, my finances were deeply in the red, and I had caught the I need to travel bug bad, so I travelled to South Korea to teach English. After a brief stint back in Austin, I'm currently getting my life together on the east coast, in Amherst, MA. I plan on applying to the heterodox economics graduate program at UMass, as well as organizing with anyone in the neighborhood. If you are in the area, please contact me. Let's make a link.
