To my lovely boy. You are perfect exactly as you are. Choose life… (and stop smoking 🙂 Happy Birthday!! smooooch, lOvE, aunt neen xxxooo (Yup, I know your age. I couldn’t convince the band to change the words.) BTW here is something Uncle Ed told me when I was about your age. "Illegitimi non carborundum."
Oh, I was just given some news. About a surprise someone will give you. You might understand what I’m saying tonight. Sometimes when people are older, or we think they’re smarter, or somehow better–we follow their example. Without thinking too much. The world will present a way to look at women and relationships. If we accept the world view, on anything, without thinking–it can make us into small people. It can take what is large and loving in us and whittle it down into something small and average… No one else’s views are inherently better than your own. Not even people you think might be better than you. Sometimes the people who look cool are the least cool of all.
I have found that when I have viewed people as objects, in whatever sense, it diminished me (made me less and small and even mean). So, it’s something to think about. I hope you hold on to the largeness that is inside you and grow it. Even if it means you’ll be different than others. Okay enough. 🙂
