The leadership of these movements treats workers the way owners of businesses treat them; as though they’re merely robots; just do the job and, basically, shut up. If the leaders didn’t, the demands would be for lovely lives for all of us. We’d be calling for us to be able to enjoy the fruits of our labors. We’d correctly identify the very tiny need for people to spend time doing the work to maintain us all; full employment of the available labor force would enable us to produce our needs including materials and methods for our pleasure, in 4 hours a week at the ‘job’!

You KNOW that’s true. As it is, work in the present method OVERproduces goods and bad/destructive services; e.g.: clerks handling complaints about poor-quality goods, made to self-destruct after short lives; advertising agencies to promote interest in and purchases of ecologically destructive goods; so on.

But our demands don’t say, let us produce relevant products – not products for which the need is created by advertising: must have a cell phone at school, or I won’t be ‘in’. Must have that expensive haircut in order to get that job. Instead we say what amounts to , let me keep doing this job that is destructive to everyone’s quality of life; let me continue to make batteries, so another company will continue to make little thingies that need batteries so some person deluded by hype can sit in their chair and operate a thingy by remote control.

All workers can make lists of how destructive their jobs are – to the environment as well as to individuals’ aesthetic sense. It doesn’t feel good to keep doing these horrid jobs in these horrid conditions, where one-up-one-ship is essential for survival, promoting that workers – and middle management – lie about someone else so they can get a leg up for promotions and raises. Brutal working conditions besides sweatshop conditions come with the job.

And the job! What’s that!? You KNOW what it is !! It’s the relationship of labor to capital. The capitalists own the jobs! Labor leaders are calling to ‘keep OUR jobs!!!” But they’re NOT our jobs. Whose jobs?! The Capitalists’ jobs? !! Why lie. Why deceive ourselves, each other! Yes it’s only the truth that can set us working on what we want.

Why do people let themselves succumb to the mass program , submit to bad work, bad conditions, unfulfilling day to day activities – as though it’s not possible to lead lovely loves on a day to day basis!!? Heck – the rich can! Why can’t we live as nicely as the rich can , with security, comfort, pleasure, a sense of accomplishment from the work we do – work where we’re not chained to one job 1/3 or more of our days, too many hours of lives, knowing how unnecessary it is that we be so constrained? We’re slapped in the face moment to moment. Every time we get a little ahead THEY -the owner/s – take it away and we fall further back!

Our leadership – our lefts/progressives – only lets us ask for improvements in a narrow vein; higher wages (remember wage slavery?) and when wages go up rents go up, the price of milk goes up; good housing conditions – never happen as long as there’s private property; education – as though school has ever been anything other than a way to fit us in to the system – sometimes a nicer experience, but always confining and limiting, always segregated BY AGE! Communities spend most time separated from our children – not by choice, but by force – by force of alienating work while our children are molded – away from us parents and family.

Workers don’t join us en masse because we don’t call for lovely lives. We call for the same thing to be more gentle. But the ‘same thing’ is intrinsically brutal. Yes, of course, no job is even worse! But that’s the point – no choice. We cannot choose to live nicely. All we can choose is to live less brutally!

If at least we start to SAY!! what we’d like to have, get out of the way of people who might become able to demand that we be allowed to build lovely lives for all of us – we’d all like to do that; we’ve been made afraid of each others’ needs because we can’t fulfill them; heck, we can’t even help fulfill our children’s and our spouses’ needs, let alone those of neighbors or strangers. Our money goes for pharmaceuticals to bandage our soldiers and their victims; U.S. pharmaceutical companies sell to both sides of ‘wars’ . Our money goes into the pockets of the owners that make the war machinery. And we know that.

Good we call for cessation to the warring!

But let’s call for fun, too, for ease, for us to study and play and work and build and make – together, regardless of previous classifications – age, sex; people doing stuff because we can and want to and need to, not for the profit of a few individuals.

The more ‘difficult’ concepts, the ones we keep saying the working class is not ready to hear or to work for – ok – don’t say those. Say good times. Say work that feels good to do. Say all ways we can think of to describe a different way of being here – to enjoy ourselves – and not by drugging ourselves. (Did you know that those huge noise ‘music’ events, huge bass vibrations cause chemical changes in the brain like what dope causes?!) Aiee the poor working classes – having to resort to instant mind control to free themselves for a little while from our awareness of our place of servitude – of ugly living.

Let’s respect our comrades; let’s say what we really want. Let’s let people say what they/we really want. We want to be together , help each other, and a myriad list of wants – Let’s name them, not limit them. Fun is nice. Let’s want it.
