The Trump/McConnell-packed Supreme Court has begun to live up to the fondest hopes of fascist Republicans

Thanks, Congress. Thanks, Senators. With temperatures like 114 in Portland and 120 degrees in Los Angeles, why change anything?

What is the difference between a riot and a protest? What about demonstrations? A vigil? Civil resistance?

The work needed to convert from threatening to kill billions of people with illegal weapons to serving all citizens with virtually carbon-free and radioactive-free energy would be massive.

The 911 system needs to become much better at routing calls to the appropriate services and more appropriate services should be developed

It’s time for us to show the world that Portland is a town of peace warriors.  Let’s practice activism that everyone can participate in, including our children.  This world is theirs to inherit–let’s make our streets safe for them again.  

Our democracy is already badly eroded under Trump and his confidence in his ability to grab what he wants is either met by serious nonviolent resistance or he may well pull it off

It is not too late to reset. It is never too late to decide to develop and maintain nonviolent discipline to increase chances for success

Memorial Day will always be a peace holiday. It should commemorate the hundreds of millions who did not die from thermonuclear warfare this year. May we be so lucky until next Memorial Day

The list of public health correlates to race and thus in many cases racism is quite long, but these factors should at least indicate that our public health as Americans is made worse by racism
