I'm co-founder of an up and coming alternative news source called UFOmedia. I must add at this point that UFO = nothing to do with flying saucers.
Originally we were known simply as the Underground Film Organisation - we show politically controversial films to the public on a monthly basis.
Things have moved on since our inception at the latter end of 2008, we have an increasing internet presence with our website UFOmedia.co.uk which currently features info on all the subjects we've covered in our meetings over the last year, a news section and an upcoming events page. Our website is about to undergo an almighty transformation which will vastly improve our stats with search engines. New features will include an editorials page to encourage public participation, an archives page for older articles, and eventually an RSS feed and online discussion forum. We are currently looking to enlist the help of fellow citizen / investigative journalists, as our workload is increasing rapidly. We are due to commence production of our own documentaries later this year, plans are well under way. An offshoot of UFO is a new 'food lobby group' which will tackle things like GM, the fishing industry and food labeling.
We have little interest in what the mainstream media have to say as it would seem that most of it is frighteningly inaccurate, delivering only the news that corporate, Governmental and military PR companies want you to hear. This is why I have respect for Zmagazine. I believe more of what comes from that than the majority of other media sources.
