Eric Meier

Hi, I’m Eric, located in Bonn, Germany. I lead the INDEP outreach and events team. So if you or your organisation are interested in joining INDEP, share your work, experience and insights at an event or just want to have a chat, I’m happy to talk about that. I’ve been engaged in strategic network facilitation in the democratic economic planning space for around 5 years now and have facilitated many talks, events and organisational collaborations. As this is my main area of work I’m focusing on organisational-strategic questions in the planning sphere, trying to forge and constantly update a “big picture” view, rather than being a specialist in any particular area of planning. I’m also an artist and curator, having organized an art exhibition called “Art, Design, Aesthetics of Democratic Economic Planning” in October 23 in Bonn, Germany. To spread the ideas behind it and promote the overall relevance of art and aesthetics in the planning discourse I regularly go on podcasts (I like to talk a lot).

CRITICAL ACTION

Critical Action is a longtime friend of Z and a music and storytelling project grounded in liberation, solidarity, and resistance to authoritarian power. Through music, narrative, and multimedia, the project engages the same political realities and movement traditions that guide and motivate Z’s work.

If this project resonates with you, you can learn more about it and find ways to support the work using the link below.

Independent media is not disappearing because the ideas are weak.

It is disappearing because platforms reward speed, outrage, and algorithmic visibility over thoughtful analysis.

More than 100,000 people read Z every month, free of paywalls, ads, and billionaire owners. It takes fewer than 1 in 100 of them to fund all of it: 1,000 donors who keep Z independent, for everyone, and build what comes next.
