Alexandria Shaner

Alexandria Shaner (born 1986, in the USA) has lived most of her life in the Caribbean, as well as in Egypt and Nicaragua. A sailor, writer, organizer, and teacher, she currently lives & travels aboard a 100-year old wooden sailboat. She has worked in community organizing, post-capitalist economics, and climate justice activism for over 20 years. Her work has appeared on ZNet, Common Dreams, CounterPunch, LA Progressive, The Socialist Project, Meta CPC, RealUtopia, Portside, Resilience, and other outlets. Alexandria is a staff member of ZNetwork.org, an instructor for the School for Social & Cultural Change, and is active with RealUtopia.org, the Women's Rights and Empowerment Network, & the Climate Reality Project.
