ZNet”s Instructionals and its online ZSchool and its Reading Lists, and of course its many Place and Topic subsites, among other content, provide online education.

ZNet also makes available links for the Z Media Institute, or ZMI, a summer school component of ZCom, and to Z Education Online, or ZEO, a developing online school system.

Using the web site is pretty straightforward. Like all sites, you click, you listen, view, or read, and you make use of the contents as you like. But, if you are a sustainer, there is also commenting and forums. And regarding posts to the site, there are just a few simple norms to abide.

Personal attacks and disparaging the motives of others is not acceptable. Sexism, racism, and classism, are not acceptable. Flooding the various arenas with content – commenting on piece after piece with the same basic message, is not acceptable. Hounding a person, so to speak, is not acceptable. Posting blogs so frequently and often as to crowd out others from being visible is not acceptable.

That is probably it – but mainly, common sense norms of civility and a sense of proportion about one’s own actions should guarantee that one’s participation will be perfectly appropriate.

In very rare cases, if a person violates these norms repeatedly, they will be contacted and warned, and, if it still doesn’t stop, no longer premitted to post. Interestingly, this has happened, if memory serves, four times in two decades.
