As the world’s citizens have seen in the Greek’s referenda, the voice of the people, even against the bitter wind & rain of a tyrannical hopeless storm, when given a chance to speak, a vote can deliver a resolution that undermines the assumed mandates of all the powers that be. These powers may continue to ignore the referenda but they can no longer describe themselves or be known as democratic.

The problem with referenda though is that the people of any of our nations or groupings so rarely get a chance to have one. Then if they do the question is rigged to allow responses that the referenda giver would find acceptable or that suits their prediction of odds in the result ect. i.e. make the proposal either what the government wants or something so negative that you wouldn’t dare pick it.

My question is why have the government propose referenda’s solely? Why not a cheap but verifiable yearly Referenda List that each citizen with their secure identity can be facilitated to vote online in. The referenda lists resolution’s can be proposed by any citizen after they secure a quota of verifiable signatures. (The quota does not need to be so prohibitively high that it overwhelm and intimidates an average citizen’s time and resources, but not so low that it ridicules the seriousness of the civic process. The people in the end will decide its merit in the referenda vote & that is the true quota.)

You get the signatures and your resolution goes on the list.

Then the citizens all vote on the various resolutions in the list every year or half year say. These resolutions that are endorsed by the people are then worked into law & policy. Of course the universal underpinning of un contestable human rights must then be worked out so that no citizens will suffer what a majority of other citizens have voted to agree against their rights and well being ect.

Importantly here I would make sure to no longer define a company or corporation as been realistically worthy of been afforded the same absolute rights and protections as a citizen. Their only worthy consideration should be the good value their job creation provides but in this they lose if their business is harming the safety & well being of people and in an unnecessary and preventable way obstructing & diminishing the organic systems of animals or the environment.

After this citizen’s ect protection screening, and when the resolution’s definition and workable development has been sorted, the policy, legislation or law is then tried in reality. It also automatically gets put on the next referenda list for a follow up review, where open feedback research is presented to help the people decide was the idea good in practice & result.

The openness to having referenda means the people have a big advancement in their participatory democracy with little cost and change needed structurally. Their governments now are much more employed to realise and carry out their direct & evolving democratic will. The people will give them their mandate and back their courage to carry it out. The interest, values and priorities of all people become activated and each referenda is the next heartbeat of their emancipated voice’s evolving democracy of reason & concern.
