Here’s a very brief quiz for readers of the UK media.
Which newspaper just posted on online quiz desperately trying to equate Donald Trump and Jeremy Corbyn? Was it the farcically right wing Daily Mail or the “Labour supporting” Daily Mirror?
Hint: not a single British newspaper with any significant readership editorialized against the failed “chickencoup” that tried to bully Jeremy Corbyn into resigning so that the membership could not vote to re-elect him.
As you can see by clicking on this link “Can you tell a Jeremy Corbyn policy from a Donald Trump policy?”, it was the “Labour supporting” Mirror that equated the current Labour leader (a man who refuses to validate xenophobia as the “soft left” of his party have proven willing to do) with the most notorious bigot in western politics.
By the way, the Mirror thinks the following is a fair and honest summary of Trump’s stance on immigration: “Any immigration plan must improve jobs wages and security for all”.
The Mirror’s quiz will also make readers falsely believe that Corbyn does not support increased funding for mental health services or job training but that Trump does.
The Mail and Mirror should merge, much like numerous Labour MPs who should simply join the Tories.
A pundit in the Independent just proclaimed Corbyn “bizarre” for not trusting the Daily Mirror among other Chickencoup endorsing newspapers as moderators of a leadership debate. There is nothing bizarre about it at all to anyone who has their eyes open.
