RE: Exclusive: U.S. to charge Venezuela’s National Guard chief with drug trafficking
Dear Julia Harte and Nate Raymond
How would this article be any different if it were a press release written by US prosecutors?
Why not seek comment from US attorneys Brain Concannon or Ira Kurzban? They can both tell you how US prosecutors were used to help destroy Haiti’s democratically elected government by targeting the people around former president Jean Bertrand Aristide – who ended up being kidnapped by US troops in 2004.
You should also talk to the US human rights lawyer Dan Kovalik about the drastically different attitude of US prosecutors towards Colombia’s military which is very deeply implicated in the drug trade. Colombia, a close US ally, is a cocaine producer, not Venezuela.
I am sure Reuters will continue to run stories about US prosecutors pursuing people around Nicolas Maduroās government. You should subject the motives of those prosecutors to real scrutiny. I have yet to read a single Reuters article that does so.

So all you would need is for them to acknowledge this? This has certainly given me something to do some research on.
