Silvio Rendón
Silvio Rendon is an economist specializing in credit risk modeling and applied econometrics. Starting in August 2025, he will serve as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, teaching Introduction to Econometrics.
He has held senior positions in financial supervision and development finance, including as Executive Director at the Inter-American Development Bank (2022–2023). His experience includes leading stress test model development (CCAR), assessing CECL firm models and conducting research on retail financial products using large-scale credit datasets. He has also built risk analytics tools such as credit dashboards and mortgage default models.
Earlier in his career, Silvio held academic appointments at Stony Brook University, ITAM, the University of Western Ontario, Universidad Carlos III, and Universitat Pompeu Fabra. His research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals in the field of applied econometrics.
He holds a PhD in Economics from New York University and a BA in Economics from the Universidad Católica del Perú.
