They Should Be Permanent
The more we learn about Trump’s last months in office, the clearer it becomes that talk of coups and martial law was far more than just idle chatter

In the long run, vaccine nationalism, and the protectionism of rich countries against poor countries, helps no one
It’s past time for the United States to make similar investments to protect the people and institutions who provide us with art, with song, with melody during good times and bad
Pick pretty much any local jurisdiction, anywhere in the country, and draconian cuts to services are on the table as we head into 2021
The last nine months have peeled back the veneer on a society so vastly unequal that it no longer has either the ability or the will to do right by those at the bottom of the economic pyramid
For the kind of unfettered poverty that is being unleashed will, if left unchecked, likely result in massive political turmoil over the coming years and decades
