Chris Genese started organizing in the housing justice movement after his family was evicted during the subprime mortgage crisis of the 2010s. Since then, he’s organized low-income working class people to resist gentrification and displacement in Seattle, Washington, D.C., and many other parts of the country. He’s currently the Director of Campaigns at Right to the City Alliance where, along with many other brilliant organizers and strategists, he oversees the Homes for All Campaign to win rent control and social housing.
