A number of Palestinian citizens were killed and injured on Saturday evening in the ongoing Israeli shelling of several areas in the Gaza Strip.

A Wafa news correspondent reported that 5 Palestinian citizens were killed and others were injured in an artillery attack by the Israeli occupation forces on a gathering of citizens in Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip.

In addition, four Palestinians were killed and others were injured in a bombing of the Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, and that a Palestinian was killed and others were injured in a bombing around Palestine Stadium to the west.

In Rafah city, a young man was killed as a result of the Israeli occupation’s bombing of the Araba area north of the city, while rescue crews recovered the body of a Palestinian near the Al-Firdaws area west of the city.

The Israeli occupation aircraft targeted a house on Yarmouk Street in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City, and another house in Al-Shati camp west of the city, while a drone bombed a group of citizens west of Al-Barbari station on Al-Jalaa Street in the center of Gaza City.

Five Palestinian citizens were killed and others were injured on Saturday afternoon in Israeli shelling of Jabalia town, north of the Gaza Strip, and Deir al-Balah city, central Gaza Strip.

A Wafa news correspondent reported that a Palestinian citizen was killed and others were injured when the Israeli occupation aircraft bombed a group of citizens at the Halabi roundabout in Jabalia al-Balad, in addition to the killing of another Palestinian citizen and the injury of several others when a “quadcopter” aircraft targeted a group of citizens in the vicinity of Halima al-Sadia School in Jabalia al-Nazla, north of the Strip.

The Israeli occupation forces have continued their limited incursion east of Deir al-Balah city and al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip since tonight, amidst the escalation of the genocidal war that it has been committing for nearly 15 months.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that army vehicles made limited advances on Friday evening in the eastern areas of Deir al-Balah and al-Bureij camp, amid heavy ground and air cover.

Witnesses added that the Abu al-Ajeen area, east of Deir al-Balah, witnessed artillery shelling and gunfire from the invading vehicles.

This incursion came hours after the occupation army warned the residents of several areas in the Al-Bureij camp in the middle of the Strip to evacuate immediately, in preparation for a military attack after a rocket was launched towards the settlements adjacent to the Strip.

According to the Palestine News Network,

Since October 7, 2023, nearly 2 million displaced Palestinians have been forced to live in tattered tents, lacking the most basic necessities to withstand the harsh winter conditions, after Israeli forces destroyed their homes.

Rosalia Polin, UNICEF’s chief communications officer in Gaza, warned of the deteriorating situation as winter sets in. She described children suffering from cold and damp conditions, with many still wearing summer clothing. Polin highlighted that children are scavenging through rubble for plastic scraps to burn for warmth, as diseases spread in the besieged territory where healthcare services have collapsed, and hospitals face relentless attacks.

This cold weather comes at a time when medical sources announced the death of an infant in the Gaza Strip due to the cold weather and low temperatures, the seventh person to die due to the cold and lack of heating in less than a week.

Rescue crews received hundreds of distress calls from the displaced to rescue them and their children, whose tents and destroyed homes were flooded by rainwater.

They indicated that they could only evacuate the displaced from their damaged shelters to other places that are mostly unsuitable for shelter, and they remain in the open under the rain and bitter cold.

The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of 45,717 Palestinian citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of 108,856 others, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, and ambulance and rescue crews cannot reach them.
