We are not currently able to consider pitches or drafts – please submit finished content.

We are particularly interested in content that explores vision and strategy; organized, strategic activism that is building the future in the present. We aim to propose, not just oppose.

Once you submit an article, we will endeavor to respond as quickly as possible. We receive a high volume of submissions and may not be able to respond to everyone. If your submission is successful, we will let you know when we plan to publish it.

Please include a brief synopsis of your submission, your author bio, and whether your submission is time sensitive. If you wish to include images with your submission, please attach them as separate hi-res files to preserve quality.

Every month, we curate a selection of Z originals and exclusives for ZMagazine. Due to distribution format, only text based articles and images can be included.

Syndication

Z is syndicated with multiple major news aggregators – our content appears on MSN, Google News, Smart News, Flipboard, and other outlets. This is part of our guerrilla dissemination strategy of breaking through the usual silos and bubbles to reach new audiences. 

While we do not have a strict policy on the use of words that can be considered profane, many of these corporate platforms will block any article containing certain words, no matter how f*cking tastefully or effectively it is done. The utilization of these words is a choice we leave up to our contributors to weigh strategically.

Our monthly digital magazine, ZMagazine, is carried by PressReader which has more than 12M active users per month. We are also making ZMagazine available to thousands of libraries and educational institutions, expanding its reach significantly.
