Electoral Bonds are bought by those

Whose money is nationalist;

They make it certain that their interests are

Top of the government list.

 

These patriots are demure,

And do not share their names;

Their selflessness is prodigal,

And backstage are their games.

 

Their modesty is respected by

Their nationalist beneficiaries,

Who do not burden the voter with

Such confidentialities.

 

Bond-buyers make the nation great

By lining the ruling purse;

It is left to the nationalist citizen

To cry his elation hoarse

 

At the prowess of nationalist war-makers

Who bring laurels to the state;

He learns how hunger and pestilence

Are best cured by volleys of hate.

 

Electoral Bonds are endemic to

The glory of the realm;

They make of corruption a nameless source

Of power at the helm.

 

There is, however, work to do,

As lawful busybodies

Like the highest court in the land

Seem squeamishly ill-at-ease

 

With procedures that circumvent

Ethics and democracy;

As if democracy can ever raise

The nation to global supremacy.
