Mission


Z MAGAZINE is an independent magazine of critical thinking on political, cultural, social, and economic life in the U.S. It sees the racial, gender, class, and political dimensions of personal life as fundamental to understanding and improving contemporary circumstances; and it aims to assist activist efforts for a better future.

SUBMISSIONS

ARTICLES: We welcome unsolicited submissions. Due dates are the 25th of each month. So articles received by November 25 will be considered for January, etc. Email them in word document or rich text format to lydia.sargent@zmag.org.

ZAP LISTINGS/ADS: We welcome short events listings, news releases, etc. Send by the first of the month for inclusion in the following month’s issue. Zap listings and ads are free at our discretion.

GRAPHICS: Cartoon and photos welcome.

SUBSCRIPTIONS TO Z MAGAZINE, print

All subscription orders should be prepaid as we are unable to bill. Your subscription will start with the next available issue and should arrive by the fifth of each month at the latest (except for the July/August double issue, which should arrive around July 15). If you aren’t getting Z, email eric.sargent@zmag.org.

SUBSCRIPTIONS TO Z ONLINE

The most recent TWO months of Z Magazine online (same content as print) are available at www.zcommunications.org to print subscribers and sustainers only (SELECTED articles from the two current issues are free as are archive articles Go to our website to sign up.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS

Please notify us immediately if you move. Send a card with your new address and old zip to Z Magazine (address below) or email eric.sargent@zmag.org.

VIDEOS

Over 70 videos are available at our online Z Store; or email eric.sargent@zmag.org for a free catalog.

DISTRIBUTORS

Bookstores and other magazine outlets should contact Disticor Newsstand Services (mraucci@disticor.com).

Z BOOKS

We are now publishing Z Books for Kindle (available through Amazon) Print books ($15 plus shipping) can be purchased at the Z Store or by contacting the Z office.

DONATIONS

We survive through income from paid subscriptions, sales of videos and books, online Sustainers, individual donations. and periodic fundraising. We are non-profit, tax exempt under the Institute for Social and Cultural Communications.
