The problem is our electoral system. We don’t have proportional representation, where people vote for their favorite party, as well as, usually, individual candidates, and parties get representation in government based on the percentage of their vote

There have been more than a dozen strikes in the past two weeks by workers striking to protect themselves against infection by the coronavirus. They have already won increased protection. What do they portend for the future?

“Car demonstrations” had people arriving in cars to an open parking lot area, standing outside at appropriate 6 feet or more apart distances, with organizers giving directions and instructions and coordinates to join a Whats App channel for communication purposes

Particularly now, with intense focus on U.S. health care, it’s timely to recognize that in the past five years U.S. supported Gulf Coalition airstrikes bombed Yemen’s health care facilities 83 times

To fight like hell for the living — to protect people from the ravages of the coronavirus and a harsh economic system — will require unrelenting work from progressive movements willing and able to organize effectively in every political arena
