Nyob rau hauv tag nrho cov kev pab them nqi ntawm lub lim tiam dhau los lub foob pob ntawm London, qhov tseeb yooj yim tawm tsam kom hnov. Nws tau hais nyob ntsiag to, ua siab mos siab muag, saib xyuas, zoo li nws yuav ua rau cov neeg tuag, tsis txhob hais qhov tseeb rau qhov laj thawj. Thaum tsis ua xyem xyav txog kev ua tsis ncaj ncees ntawm cov neeg uas cog cov foob pob (xws li yog leej twg ua tau), tsis muaj leej twg yuav tsum tsis ntseeg tias cov no yog "Blair lub foob pob"; thiab nws yuav tsum tsis txhob raug tso cai kom zam dhau qhov ua txhaum nrog lwm qhov kev hais lus tsis zoo ntawm Bush-inspired hais txog "peb txoj hauv kev ntawm lub neej". Cov neeg tawg rog tau ntaus vim nws thiab Bush tau tawm tsam Iraq, tau ceeb toom los ntawm Pawg Neeg Saib Xyuas Kev Txawj Ntse tias "txog tam sim no qhov kev hem thawj loj tshaj plaws" rau lub tebchaws no yuav "ua kom muaj zog los ntawm kev ua tub rog tawm tsam Iraq". Tseeb tiag, qhov no yog ib qho kev ceeb toom ntseeg tau los ntawm British txawj ntse hauv kev khiav mus rau kev ntxeem tau ntawm Iraq. Pawg Neeg Saib Xyuas Tsev Kawm Ntawv tau txheeb xyuas qhov lus ceeb toom no. Tau Blair tau mloog nws es tsis txhob koom nrog kev dag ntxias lub tebchaws uas Iraq tau muaj kev hem thawj, cov neeg Londoners uas tuag rau hnub Thursday yuav muaj txoj sia nyob niaj hnub no, nrog rau ntau txhiab tus neeg dawb huv Iraqis. Peb lub lis piam dhau los, ib daim ntawv tshaj tawm CIA tau qhia tias Anglo-American ntxeem tau ntawm Iraq tau hloov lub teb chaws ntawd mus rau qhov tseem ceeb ntawm kev ua phem. Tsis muaj ib lub koom haum txawj ntse suav txog Iraq li qhov teeb meem ua ntej kev ntxeem tau, txawm li cas los xij tyrannical tsoom fwv. Ntawm qhov tsis sib xws, xyoo 2003, CIA tau tshaj tawm tias Iraq "tsis muaj kev hem thawj ua phem rau nws cov neeg nyob ze" thiab Saddam Hussein yog "ua phem rau Al-Qaeda". Blair's thiab Bush qhov ntxeem tau hloov txhua yam ntawd. Nyob rau hauv invading lub teb chaws muaj zog thiab defenseless nyob rau hauv lub plawv ntawm lub Islamic thiab Arab ntiaj teb no, lawv taug txuj kev nyuaj los ua nws tus kheej ua kom tiav. Kev tsis lees paub qhov ntawd los ntawm cov neeg uas txhawb nqa kev cuam tshuam ua rau lub cim xeeb ntawm txhua tus neeg uas tau tuag vim li ntawd. Blair's epic irresponsibility tau coj qhov txaus ntshai niaj hnub ntawm Iraq tsev rau teb chaws Aas Kiv thiab nws tsis yog (los piav txog ib qho ntawm ob peb cov lus nug nyuaj uas muab rau nws ua ntej kev ntxeem tau (los ntawm John Humphries) haum rau ua tus thawj tswj hwm. Tau ntau tshaj li ib xyoos, nws tau hais kom cov neeg Askiv "txav mus" los ntawm Iraq, thiab lub lim tiam dhau los nws zoo li nws cov spinmeisters thiab hmoov zoo tau koom tes. Qhov khoom plig ntawm 2012 Olympics rau London tau tsim qhov kev xav tsis thoob uas txhua tus tau zoo, tsis hais txog cov xwm txheej ntxhov hauv lub tebchaws nyob deb. Ntxiv mus, G8 lub rooj sib tham hauv Scotland thiab nws nrog "Ua Kev Pov Hwm Keeb Kwm" kev sib tw thiab kev ua yeeb yam ntawm cov neeg ua yeeb yam tau ua ib ntus npog rau qhov kev thuam loj tshaj plaws ntawm lub sijhawm niaj hnub no: kev cuam tshuam tsis raug cai tsim los ntawm kev dag uas, raws li txoj cai thoob ntiaj teb txoj cai tsim. ntawm Nuremberg, sawv cev rau "kev ua phem ua tsov ua rog tseem ceeb". Ob lub lis piam dhau los, qhov sib txawv ntawm qhov kev pab cuam ntawm G8, nws txoj kev taug kev thiab pop concerts, thiab lwm qhov kev tshwm sim "ntiaj teb" tau tawm tsam. Lub Ntiaj Teb Tribunal ntawm Iraq nyob rau hauv Istanbul tau zoo li tsis muaj kev pab cuam, tab sis cov pov thawj nws tau tsim, qhov phem tshaj plaws rau hnub tim, tau yog qhov ntsiag to specter ntawm Geldoff extravaganzas. Lub tsev hais plaub yog ib qho kev nug pej xeem thoob ntiaj teb rau kev ntxeem tau thiab kev ua haujlwm, cov nom tswv zoo tsis kam tuav.

He described how the hospitals of besieged Fallujah had been subjected to an American tactic of collective punishment, with US marines assaulting staff and stopping the wounded entering, and American snipers firing at the doors and windows, and medicines and emergency blood prevented from reaching them. Children, the elderly, were shot dead in front of their families, in cold blood. Imagine for a moment the same appalling state of affairs imposed on the London hospitals that received the victims of Thursday’s bombing. Unimaginable? Well, it happens, in our name, regardless of BBC’s suppression of the Fallujah and other atrocities. When will someone draw this parallel at one of the staged “press conferences” at which Blair is allowed to emote for the cameras stuff about “our values outlast (ing) theirs”? Silence is not journalism. In Fallujah, they know “our values” only too well. While the two men responsible for the carnage in Iraq, Bush and Blair, were side by side at Gleneagles, why wasn’t the connection made between their fraudulent “war on terror” and the bombing in London? When will someone in the political class say that Blair’s smoke-and-mirrors “debt cancellation” at best amounts to less than the money the government spent in a week brutalising Iraq, where British and American violence is the cause of the doubling of child poverty and malnutrition since Saddam Hussein was overthrown (Unicef). The truth is that the debt relief the G8 is offering is lethal. Its ruthless “conditionalities” of captive economies far outweigh any tenuous benefit. This was a taboo during the G8 week, whose theme was not so much making poverty history as the silencing and pacifying and co-opting dissent and truth. The mawkish images on giant screens behind the pop stars in Hyde Park included no pictures of murdered Iraqi doctors with the blood streaming from their heads, cut down by Bush’s snipers. Real life became more satirical than satire could ever be. There was Bob Geldoff on the front pages resting his smiling face on smiling Blair’s shoulder, the war criminal and his smitten, knighted jester. There was an heroically silhouetted Bono, who celebrates men like Jeffrey Sachs as saviours of the world’s poor while lauding “compassionate” George Bush’s “war on terror” as one of his generation’s greatest achievements; and there was Paul Wolfowitz, beaming and promising to make poverty history: this is the man who, before he was handed control of the World Bank, was an apologist for Suharto’s genocidal regime in Indonesia, who was one of the architects of Bush’s “neo-con” putsch and of the bloodfest in Iraq and the notion of “endless war”.

For the politicians and pop stars and church leaders and polite people who believed Blair and Gordon Brown when they declared their “great moral crusade” against poverty, Iraq was an embarrassment. The killing of more than 100,000 Iraqis mostly by American gunfire and bombs — a figure reported in a comprehensive peer-reviewed study in the The Lancet — was airbrushed from mainstream debate. Untold numbers of loved ones are missing in Iraq because of the horror Bush and Blair have inflicted on that society. But where do the families post their pictures, as the grieving do in London? If they ask at the American bases, they run the risk of themselves disappearing. In our free-speaking societies, the unmentionable is that “the state has lost its mind and is punishing so many innocent people”, as Arthur Miller once wrote, “and so the evidence has to be internally denied.”

Tsis tsuas yog tsis lees paub, tab sis cuam tshuam los ntawm tag nrho lub tsev hais plaub: Geldoff, Bono, Madonna, McCartney li al, uas nws "Live 8" yog qhov kev tawm tsam ntawm 15 Lub Ob Hlis 2003 thaum ob lab tus tib neeg coj lawv lub siab thiab lub hlwb thiab npau taws rau txoj kev ntawm London. . Blair yuav luag yeej yuav siv lub lim tiam dhau los ntawm kev ua phem thiab kev txom nyem ntxiv kom txo qis tib neeg txoj cai hauv tebchaws Askiv, raws li Bush tau ua hauv Asmeskas. Lub hom phiaj tsis yog kev ruaj ntseg, tab sis kev tswj hwm ntau dua. Qhov tseem ceeb tshaj plaws no, nco txog lawv cov neeg raug tsim txom, "peb" cov neeg raug tsim txom, hauv Iraq xav kom rov qab los ntawm peb txoj kev npau taws. Thiab tsis muaj dab tsi tsawg dua yog tshuav rau cov neeg tuag thiab raug kev txom nyem hauv London lub lim tiam dhau los, tsis tsim nyog.
